Me

Hi, I’m Hina, going online by SunshineHina (for my own brand) or Lonely Hikikomori (dated back when I collaborated more for translation projects).

My goal always has been to create. Be it video, audio, be it storylines or translation, I want to provide people entertainment through any media. I started translating around 2018 as a way to bridge the gap between Japanese and Western culture. First, I worked on manga and anime, but later I moved onto esports, and right now my passion is to cover Japanese esports in English (obviously, while I continue doing my own hobbies).

I always loved gaming, and I’ve been watching professional League of Legends since 2015, when I visited my first Worlds! But it wasn’t until 2020 when I really started getting into the depths of esports. Now, from interview translations, through solo queue spectator streams, to analytical and historical videos, I cover a wide variety of the esports scene. In 2023, I started Jesport Hub as a way to have one hub (duh) where people can access English content about Japanese esports.

But, it’s not just modern gaming that interest me. My introduction to gaming was through a Nintendo DS, and ever since then, I kept going forward and backwards too simultaneously. You can see me doing videos and streams about the latest hit-games like Genshin, and next steam play on my original Famicom for the retro vibes. I find enjoyment in all of them, and I hope I can share that with you all!
